Can I Make Money Writing Online?
Can I Make Money Writing Online?
You want to know if you can make money writing online, and the answer is yes. However, at least as far as I have found, it won't make you rich. Some seem to just strike it big, like Dooce, and others with fantastic blogs live in anonymity.
I have found that for me, blogging is fun, but writing articles online is the best way to collect some dough. Associated Content will pay between $3-$10 generally for their "calls for content" articles. Articles should be tightly focused on the topic and well-written; they do not accept just anything. You can also write on whatever topic interests you and submit it for approval. If it meets their standards they will publish it and provide upfront payment. (A link to my AC page is on my PNN "front page")
Helium is also a fantastic place to write articles. Their general articles collect performance revenue depending on the popularity of the article. However, the marketplace provides you with a list of publishers looking for specific content and willing to pay around $20-$60 or more depending on the length and complexity.
So, while I doubt my writing will make me millions, I do have some places where my creativity provides me with some cash... and that's cool with me. :-)
